Sweeping steps with comfortable landings allow privacy and complete lake access. The water is very clear. Initially the shore is rocky shale that transitions to soft mud at a depth of about 4 feet. This part of the bay has a very gentle slope. You have to go out about 100 feet before you get to 6 feet deep. The rocky shale has zebra mussels so swimming shoes/Crocs/old sneakers are recommended.
Kayak rental are available at the state park (0.5 miles away). We don't offer boats because the Lake can change very quickly and we don't have the resources to help people if they need it. They do at the State Park. It is fine with us if you bring your own and assume your own liability. The State Park also has a free boat launch about 300 yards away from our shoreline.
